Metal Fabrication Supervisor

This position is primarily responsible for validating and producing quality end products and applying fabrication and welding knowledge to achieve product optimization through the following core responsibilities.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $25.00 to $27.00 /hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm

Duties Include:

  • MIG and TIG welding of aluminum, steel, and stainless steel to customer specifications, including the following:
  • Prepare product to be welded by grinding, drilling, milling, tapping, and cutting parts
  • Use a variety of techniques to create quality welds according to blueprints
  • Provide quality control and inspect welds for accuracy
  • Change welding wire and gas tanks as needed
  • Provide support for the routine daily operation and maintenance of the fabrication department which requires experience in operations, maintenance, and technical functions as well as interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and managers
  • Manage work orders to ensure the accuracy of production and timeliness of delivery
  • Ensure all equipment is properly set up, operated in a safe manner, and that all safety devices are in use
  • Monitor equipment and request maintenance when required
  • Analyze and make suggestions for department improvements in efficiency, effectiveness, and accuracy
  • Other duties as assigned including basic maintenance and repair, machine operation, etc.

Position Requirements:

  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independently
  • Strong understanding of measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and other measuring devices
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Ability to lift 50lbs on a regular basis and up to 75lbs occasionally

Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Required Experience: MIG and Tig Welding: 4 years
